Giselle Fenig: biography and career

Biography

Giselle Fenig

Although I was born in Brooklyn, my family moved to Mexico City when I was four. From an early age I was drawn to art and taught myself. Later, while studying design, I enrolled in workshops that helped me develop my skills and broaden my knowledge.

I see my work as an extension of myself, reflecting my energy and my moods. I combine materials and techniques to create a visual language in dialogue with freedom and spontaneity, with results that are always different and surprising to me. This approach has led me to embrace accidents as a natural part of my creative process, where imperfection becomes an essential element of the work and a source of its beauty. My faces may seem chaotic while maintaining a deep sense of cohesion.

Through expressive gestures I focus on the energy of color and on capturing feminine strength. Figurative abstraction allows me to explore what drives my work: passion. I model my figures intuitively, drawing on my academic training while also moving beyond it as an act of personal liberation.
